If you request a laptop, or refer someone
What we collect: your name, contact details and address; why you need a laptop and what you'll use it for; any accessibility needs; and, if someone refers you, their name, organisation and contact details. You may choose to tell us about your health, disability, housing or personal circumstances so we can set up the right laptop and support.
Why: to decide whether we can help, prepare a laptop suited to you, arrange delivery and training, and check in with you after six months.
Our lawful basis: legitimate interests in delivering our charitable work. Where you share health, disability or other sensitive information, we rely on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Measuring our impact: we measure social value using HACT's framework. We share anonymised information about outcomes with HACT, and they cannot identify you from it. We never publish your real name or photo without your permission. Stories on this site use changed names and details.
If you donate laptops
What we collect: your name, organisation, contact details, collection address, and details of the devices you donate.
Why: to arrange collection, issue paperwork, and send you impact reports.
Our lawful basis: legitimate interests, or contract where we provide a paid data erasure service.
Data erasure of donated devices is carried out by TTB CircularIT under a written contract with us. They act as our processor and only handle devices on our instructions.
If you contact us or join our mailing list
We use the details you give us to reply. If you join our mailing list, we'll send you updates with your consent, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
If you fund or partner with us
We keep contact details and records of our agreements, donations and reporting, on the basis of legitimate interests and our legal obligations as a charity, including Gift Aid records where relevant.

Donation and collection records: 6 years, for financial and audit purposes
