Tech‑Takeback Foundation has officially launched as an independent charity, building on the charitable work previously delivered by Tech‑Takeback Ltd. Our mission remains the same: to reduce e‑waste, improve digital inclusion, and ensure people across the UK have access to the technology they need to learn, work, stay connected and thrive.

For the past decade, Tech‑Takeback Ltd has helped thousands of people by refurbishing donated laptops and rehoming them with those who need them most — including care leavers, older adults, refugees, disabled people, survivors of domestic abuse, and families experiencing financial hardship.

As demand for support grew, it became clear that the charitable side of the organisation needed more space to expand its reach. By creating a fully independent charity, we are now able to:

  • increase our digital inclusion programmes

  • attract grant funding and long‑term partnerships

  • deliver more free laptops to individuals and community groups

  • offer wraparound digital skills training and connectivity support

  • deepen our environmental impact through circular tech reuse

Carolyn Dwyer, Chair of Trustees at Tech‑Takeback Foundation said:
“We know that digital access transforms lives. Becoming an independent charity means we can help more people, more quickly, and with greater long‑term impact.”

Tech-Takeback Foundation will continue to work closely with local authorities, charities, housing providers, community groups and businesses who share our commitment to bridging the digital divide and reducing unnecessary e‑waste.

We’re excited to begin this new chapter, and we invite our community, partners, supporters and donors to join us.
