Tech-Takeback Foundation

Reusing laptops.
Reducing waste.
Rebuilding lives.

Every laptop donated creates opportunity; for people, for communities, and for the planet.

Across the UK, millions of people are being left behind because they can’t get online. From students and care leavers to refugees, disabled people, older adults, survivors of domestic abuse and people living in poverty; digital exclusion stops them accessing education, employment, healthcare, connection, and basic services.

At the same time, 22 million laptops are sitting unused in homes and businesses. We turn those forgotten devices into life‑changing tools.

We make technology accessible for everyone, while preventing e‑waste.

Tech‑Takeback Foundation collects unwanted laptops, refurbishes them, purpose builds them, and rehomes them to people facing barriers to the digital world. We work closely with charities, local authorities, businesses and community groups to make sure every device goes where it can have the greatest impact.

Our circular approach means your old tech stays in use, out of landfill, and in the hands of someone whose life it can change.

Laptop reuse

Training, guidance and (where needed) internet access are provided so that people can use their new laptops with confidence.

For the planet

The UK produces 1.7m tonnes of e-waste each year. Reuse keeps devices in circulation, reduces carbon emissions, and saves precious materials.

For people

Digital exclusion affects education, employment, wellbeing, independence, and mental health. Access to a laptop can be transformative.

For communities

Reused laptops help students study, jobseekers train, families connect, and vulnerable people access essential services in our communities

For businesses

Supporting tech reuse for digital inclusion delivers measurable social value and supports sustainability and CSR goals. All with verified reporting.

Digital exclusion affects everyone differently. Here’s how a single laptop can change a life:

A laptop helped Oliver rebuild his confidence, reconnect with his family and find work.

Leila says, "For the first time in years... I'm starting to picture a future".

For Margaret, a laptop offered independence and a lifeline to the outside world.

Aaron can train and apply for new work, while his children thrive at school.
